You got so far!

Your body as a vessel

You got so far, so I guess you'll not be scared away by this next part. I know. Most people think of chakras and energies as spiritual bullshit. Woowoo nonesense. But for me, it was one of the most powerful teachings in yoga. The chakras were just a body-mind manual for this vehicle called body. Finally, everything I practiced made sense and I was able to attribute the different poses to my spiritual awakenings.

You have probably noticed that most of your inner experiences are echoed in your body. When you feel stressed, your stomach hurts. When you're in love, your heart is beating faster. Your sexual pleasure is perceived in your genital and pelvic area, not in your elbows.

1
Root Chakra – Your sense of security and survival. Includes basic needs such as food, water, shelter, and safety, as well as emotional needs such as letting go of fear and feeling safe.
2
Sacral Chakra – Your sexual energy and your joy. When open, you are friendly, passionate, and fulfilled while also eliciting feelings of wellness, abundance, pleasure, and joy.
3
Naval Chakra – Your source of individual power and self-esteem. It focuses on individual willpower, personal power, and commitment. Also being confident in who you really are.
4
Heart Chakra – Where the physical and the spiritual meet. It is all about love. The awakening to spiritual awareness, forgiveness, and service. When it is aligned and balanced, love and compassion are flowing freely.
5
Throat Chakra – The source of your communication power. It is all about speaking your inner truth and ensuring that your inner truths are properly communicated.
6
Third-eye Chakra – It governs your intuition and the ability to recognise and tap into it.  It allows you to cut through any illusions and drama to see the clear picture.
7
Crown Chakra – This is the center of enlightenment and your spiritual connection to your higher self, others, and ultimately, the divine.
